Every account goes through age and identity verification before it can be used, and we apply extra protections to younger users — adults and under-18s can't message each other at all, under-18s can only message people within a year of their own age, and under-16s can only accept message requests from people they've added as a friend and who have added them back. Our community guidelines, in the app under Profile > Settings > Safety > Rules, set out what is and isn't allowed. You can report or block anyone at any time from the three dots menu in a private message channel or on their profile, and we review every report we receive. Messages that break the guidelines are removed, repeated breaches lead to a suspension, and we have a zero-tolerance policy on sexual solicitation, scamming, impersonation and hate speech. Bans are device-based, so a banned user can't simply make a new account on the same phone.
